All -
I have been pulled away from DiscoverSharePoint over the last few months. I have been town between working on a major project and learning about additional products that extend the out-of-the-box features of SharePoint (WSS 3.0, Office SharePoint Server Standard and Enterprise) and learning more about SharePoint 2010. The bottom line, the economic shift has encouraged us to do more for less. Most importantly, we are in the mist of a paradigm shift of technologies.
I wanted to reachout and post on DiscoverSharePoint to, openly, solidify my committment to building DiscoverSharePoint. First, I don't want to tie DiscoverSharePoint to any one ideology and concept. I am reaching out to each and every memeber to build a board that would manage the direction of DiscoverSharePoint.
In less than two months, we will have the SharePoint Conference 2009 upon us. It is my position that only means that we must consider Office SharePoint Server 2007 and SharePoint 2010. There are a number of strong signs on the internet. One,
Mindsharp (www.mindsharp.com) is advertising a
SharePoint 2010 Beta Course. (http://www.mindsharp.com/Default.aspx?page=o2010). Also, we have the
SharePoint 2010 Virtual Conference & Expo (http://sharepointvcx.com/) on November 5th, 2009. Don't worry, check the events calender on DiscoverSharePoint. Finally, the
SharePoint Technology Conference [http://www.sptechcon.com/] is February 10 - 12, 2010. Bottom line, there is a strong indication that we are going to see the SharePoint 2010 technologies very soon. Again, check the DiscoverSharePoint calender.
I am looking for two additional board memebers. Come and build a user group that spans the globe.
